Volunteer at Polmonthill
Polmonthill Community Snowsports Centre is a charity run by our community volunteers. We need volunteers so that we can operate and our community members can ski and snowboard. Polmonthill is a unique community facility. Please join us and help Polmonthill thrive.

​We have a range of volunteer roles. Some are big some are small. Some are done at the slope, some are done at home online. Full training is given for all roles. Whether you have an interest in snowsports or want to learn something entirely new please get in touch.
Volunteer roles
Slope maintenance
Regular and occasional maintenance of the ski matting, sprinklers and tow. Our ski slope and tow need checking every week. At various times of the year we will also undertake larger programs of renewal and repair. ​
Grounds maintenance
Regular and occasional maintenance of the grounds including grass cutting and hedge trimming.
Ski and snowboard maintenance
All of our snowsports equipment needs to be checked regularly to ensure it is ready for use.
Buildings management
We have two buildings at Polmonthill which need daily upkeep. We also have exciting plans to refurbish these buildings and need help in managing all aspects of these building works.
Desk staff
Our desk staff work behind the counter at Polmonthill. They greet visitors and prepare all the snowsports equipment ready to give to customers.
Social media
We love to tell people all about what is going on at Polmonthill. If you are social media savvy please help us share our story and spread the word about snowsports at Polmonthill.
Social events
We love nothing more than running fun events at Polmonthill. We need lots of helpers to run these events.
Funding
As a charity we are able to apply for funding from a variety of sources to improve our facility, such as government grants, national lottery funding, and private corporations and benefactors. Applying for funding takes time and carefully crafted applications. If you are good at persuasive writing then please help us apply for vital funds.
Schools coordinator
We want as many local school children as possible to have the opportunity to learn to ski. If you can help us build links with local schools then we would love to hear from you.
Management committee
Our trustees and committee members manage all the operations at Polmonthill. If you would like to take a lead in any of our volunteer roles or contribute to the general oversight of Polmonthill and the charity then join our committee.
