The official completion of the community asset transfer of the ski centre from Falkirk Council to our local charity Polmonthill Community Snowsports Centre was confirmed on December 11th.
Our team of volunteers have successfully run the snowsports centre for the past year. The completion of the asset transfer confirms that the ski centre will remain in community ownership for years to come.
Celebration Event
To celebrate the completion of the transfer, the centre hosted a special event,
bringing together volunteers, supporters and local partners. Falkirk MP, Euan Stainbank, along with local councillors Cllr Anne Hannah (Lower Braes) and Cllr Siobhan Patterson (Upper Braes) took to the slope with local skiers to mark the occasion and recognise the efforts of everyone involved in securing the centre’s future.

Cllr Anne Hannah said: “Over the past year the group of volunteers who have taken over the Polmonthill Snowsports Centre have made huge improvements to the Centre and to the service for people across central Scotland. Many people doubted if it could be kept running but the passion and commitment of the community involved has made it work. I look forward to seeing the Centre going from strength to strength, and I look forward to
seeing young people who have learned to ski at Polmonthill go on to win
competitions and hopefully some medals.”
Volunteers needed
With the transfer now complete, the charity is encouraging more local people to get
involved. Additional volunteers will help expand opening hours, support lessons and
sessions, assist with events, and strengthen the centre’s ability to deliver
improvements and future plans.
Anyone interested in volunteering or supporting are encouraged to get in touch to
find a role that suits their availability and skills, with opportunities available across
